Memorandum of Cooperation between Faculty of Medicine at Beirut Arab University and Faculty of Medicine at Alexandria University

Beirut Arab University represented by Professor Naglaa Mashaal, Dean of Faculty of Medicine, and Professor Wael Nabil Abdel Salam, Dean of Faculty of Medicine at Alexandria University and in the presence of the University President Professor Amr Galal El Adawi have signed a three-year memorandum of cooperation. The memorandum aims to invest their powers, human, scientific and financial potentials in order to achieve the noble goals that they strive to achieve in the fields of medicine, university education, development of scientific studies and research in addition to the advancement of medical work, health care and services.

The agreement provides training of undergraduate students (Fourth, fifth and sixth year) at the Faculty of Medicine at Alexandria University at the medical, academic and research level provided that the curriculum and training conforms with the requirements and accreditation conditions for the Faculty of Medicine at Beirut Arab University.

They also signed an agreement for research exchange taking into consideration its importance to undergraduate and postgraduate students in both faculties.

A joint committee from the deanship in both universities shall be formed to directly supervise the implementation of this cooperation in order to achieve high quality and efficient academic programs and clinical training.

At the beginning, Professor Abdel Salam, Dean of Faculty of Medicine at Alexandria University, showed a video in which he explained the properties of the advanced medical center of the Faculty of Medicine at Alexandria University. He also welcomed concluding this agreement and consolidating this relationship that started sixty years ago.

Professor Amr Galal El Adawi, President of Beirut Arab University, mentioned in his speech: “This memorandum is a start for a cooperation that will continue to include other medical faculties for the benefit students would achieve through training in different departments.”

Professor Naglaa Mashaal, Dean of Faculty of Medicine, noted the importance of this agreement especially in the current circumstances Lebanon is passing through and it will add great experience in training for the students of Medicine in their final years.

At the end, Professor El Adawi, President of Beirut Arab University, presented an honorary medal to Professor Abdel Salam, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Alexandria University, as a token of loyalty and appreciation.
