عيّن قداسة البابا فرنسيس رئيس الجامعة الأنطونيَّة، الأب ميشال جلخ، أمين سر دائرة الكنائس الشرقية في الفاتيكان، وهو المعاون الأوَّل للكردينال الرئيس. تُعنى هذه الدائرة الحبريَّة بكل الأمور الكنسيَّة والتنظيميَّة التي تتعلّق بالكنائس الشرقيَّة في العالم. يُذكر أنها المرة الأولى التي يتبوأ فيها ماروني أو لبناني هكذا مركز منذ تأسيس الدائرة سنة 1917 ولغاية الآن.

His Holiness Pope Francis has appointed the Antonine University Rector, Father Michel Jalakh, Secretary of the Vatican Dicastery for the Eastern Churches, serving as the Cardinal Prefect first collaborator. The pontifical dicastery is in charge of all ecclesiastical and disciplinary matters pertaining to the Eastern Catholic Churches all over the world. It is worth mentioning that this marks the first time since the establishment of the dicastery in 1917 that a Maronite or a Lebanese holds such a position.

Sa Sainteté le Pape François a nommé le Recteur de l'Université Antonine, le Père Michel Jalakh, Secrétaire du dicastère pour les Églises orientales au Vatican, agissant à titre de premier collaborateur au Cardinal Préfet. Ce dicastère pontifical s’occupe de toutes les questions ecclésiastiques et disciplinaires liées aux Églises catholiques orientales partout dans le monde. Il importe de mentionner que c'est la première fois depuis la fondation du dicastère en 1917 qu'un maronite ou un Libanais occupe pareil poste.
